Our Mission

A bridge is something we use to get from where we are to where we want to be.

Where are we?

Banks do not let their users share their transaction data with third party apps in a secure, standardized way. Instead, you have to (cringe) give your bank account credentials directly to third parties.

How did the phrase "bank-level security" ever become a compliment?

Where do we want to be?

In a world where banks let their users share their transaction data with third party apps without giving those apps your bank account credentials!

The SimpleFIN Bridge is the bridge between those two realities. It aspires to be the last third party app to which you'll ever have to give your bank account credentials.

How we define success

  1. The SimpleFIN Bridge is a success when it is turned off because banks have implemented SimpleFIN themselves or a universal, better alternative.
  2. A secondary success will be to see third party aggregation companies stop charging excessive amounts.

We will succeed if

  1. Developers build apps that consume the SimpleFIN protocol (independent of the SimpleFIN Bridge)
  2. Users pester their banks to implement SimpleFIN. We will offer discounts to users that do. Yes, we will offer discounts to our users that work to eliminate our own business :)
